FAGNONI RAFFAELLA

Architect, full professor in Design at Iuav University of Venice since December 2019. She teaches Project Laboratories. Since 1995 she worked at the University of Genoa, Department of Architecture and Design. She has held various management positions including director of the master’s degree course in Product and Event Design, and coordinator of the PhD course in Design. She carried out teaching and research activities at other foreign universities. Until 2020 she taught also at ISIA Florence (MIUR/AFAM). She is a member of the board of directors of the Scientific Society SID, the Italian Design Society. She is a member of scientific and editorial committees of design reviews and publishing series. She followed many design and experimental theses, and PhD projects. She participated in numerous conferences in Italy and abroad. Lines of research: The research focuses on social design, extending the field and concept of the product, artefacts and services. It aims at identifying less usual design fields in which to innovate by exploiting tools and skills, from practice to theory, to explore the role that design can play in contemporary society.
