FABIAN LORENZO

Lorenzo Fabian, architect and urban planner, is Full Professor of Urban Planning at Iuav in Venice. He deals with research and project at the urban and territory scale with a particular focus on the issues of ecology, landscape and sustainable development of the city.
Since 2013 he has been a researcher and teacher at IUAV where he has taught the subjects of urban planning at the Department of Design Cultures. He has carried out teaching and research activities at the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Politecnico di Milano, at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Parma, the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico di Bari, and as part of the activities of the European Postgraduate Masters in Urbanism (IUAV, UPC Barcelona, TU Delft, KU Leuven).
Since 2016 he has been the Iuav Rector's Delegate for the third mission with delegated responsibilities for technology transfer, Competence Center, PNRR implementation, university spin-offs and start-ups, and relations with institutions and businesses. Since 2022 he has been the university coordinator for the implementation of projects related to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the iNEST Innovation Ecosystem program, in this context he is the university coordinator for the implementation of the iNEST project, scientific head of Spoke 4 City, Architecture and Sustainable Design and member of the scientific council of the related consortium. Since 2018 he has been a member of the board of SMACT scpa, Centro di Competenza Nazionale ad Alta Specializzazione, one of the 8 Competence Centers born in Italy on the impetus of the Ministry of Economic Development, whose foundation and establishment he promotes. Since 2019, he has been a member of the research structures CITY-Lab and EPIC, Cluster Labs recognized by the Athenaeum.
