GLASS is a cluster is dedicated to the discussion, study, design development and communication concerning glass, its history, innovations, processes and tools for its production, transformation and processing.
GLASS is a cluster that links research, education and entrepreneurship by investigating the environmental, social and economic sustainability of architecture, the built environment, artefacts and production processes. GLASS aims at deepening the themes related to the culture of artistic and industrial glass.
GLASS is a cluster that operates and plans its activities considering that the glass sector, with explicit reference to the local territorial reality, faces a very complex international context. The cost of energy, climate change, the transformation of international balances and the succession of health, energy, economic (and other) crises describe the history of the last few years: these are exceptional times, which probably trace the direction of future history.
To meet current and future challenges, GLASS deepens the themes of glass design through
the contamination between disciplinary areas and the valorisation of integrated and interdisciplinary working methods;
the valorisation of inter-scalarities that weave links between products, production, architecture and territory;
the scientific, technological and cultural transfer also through the productive transformation of knowledge.
