Questo libro presenta i risultati scientifici di un progetto teso a esaminare le forme e i significati dei sistemi espositivi dal punto di vista del display. Grazie alla sua natura intrinsecamente interdisciplinare, il dispositivo del display si configura come un terreno di negoziazione resistente a un approccio univoco, trasformandosi in un agente strategico di crisi per le discipline storiche, teoriche e progettuali.
L'obiettivo del volume è riconsiderare il concetto di “expographie” come un possibile modello di interdisciplinarità, adottando l’approccio investigativo del display per incrociare prospettive diverse. Oltre alle discipline storiche e teoriche, sono coinvolti i campi del design, dell’architettura e della progettazione espositiva. Partendo da studi di caso e indagini metodologiche, i saggi raccolti in questo volume si articolano attorno a quattro costellazioni tematiche — Esperienza, Memoria, Engagement, Display in atto — in cui convergono punti cruciali e, a nostro avviso, aperti del dibattito sul display. //This book presents the first scientific outcomes of a project aimed at scrutinizing the forms and meanings of exhibition
systems from the perspective of display. Due to its inherently cross-disciplinary nature, the display device is a negotiation
ground resistant to a univocal approach, transforming it
into a strategic agent of crisis for historical, theoretical, and
project disciplines.
The objective of this book is to reassess the concept of
“expographie” as a suitable cross-disciplinarity, by employing
the investigative approach of display to intersect various
perspectives. Alongside historical and theoretical disciplines,
the fields of design, architecture, and exhibit design
are involved.
Starting from case studies and methodological inquiries,
the essays in this volume revolve around four thematic
constellations — Experience, Memory, Engagement, Display
in action — where pivotal and, in our view, open points of the
display debate converge.
