Il carattere delle città

Negli ultimi decenni la rappresentazione identitaria dei luoghi ha visto affiancarsi sempre più spesso all’immagine istituzionale, solitamente rappresentata dallo stemma o dal logo, la creazione di un branding territoriale, predisposto attraverso appositi sistemi di identità visiva e brand identity che contribuiscono in maniera tangibile a definire lo spazio pubblico, anche attraverso le sue declinazioni tipografiche. L'originalità del testo è rappresentata dalla definizione della prima mappatura dell’identità tipografica delle città italiane realizzata attraverso una metodologia di ricerca basata su fonti primarie dirette e su una vasta ricerca sul campo cha ha portato a contattare tutti i designer e le amministrazioni pubbliche coinvolte.

In recent decades, the identity representation of places has increasingly seen the institutional image, usually represented by the coat of arms or the logo, being flanked by the creation of a territorial branding, prepared through special visual and brand identity systems that tangibly contribute to defining public space, also through its typographic declinations. The originality of the text is represented by the definition of the first mapping of the typographical identity of Italian cities carried out through a research methodology based on direct primary sources and extensive field research that led to contacting all the designers and public administrations involved.
