Literarisches Material. Adorno und die Exemplarität der Literatur

In this paper I intend to show the role that the concept of literary material plays in defining the exemplifying character of literature within Adorno's aesthetics. First, I will define the concepts of artistic material and literary material, and then specify the relationship of the latter to the concept of form and the exemplary character of literature. Lastly, I will use the example of the postmodern novel to show the concrete effectiveness of this reading model.
