El campanario dei Frari en Venecia: conocimiento y restauración

The preliminary study, project and restoration process of the belltower of the Frari church in Venice is an exemplary case ofintervention on a historic building.This intervention started with in-depth research into the documentary data along with a detailedstudy of the material fabric which has made it possible tocompare the verisimilitude and gaps in the historic sources, theevolution of the building, its built reality and the effects of therepair works carried out in the past at the same time as thedamages in the fabric were monitored. Thanks to the knowledgethus gleaned, the restoration works proceeded with great cautionin order to respect the material history of the building and short-and long-term structural compatibility.
