Paesaggi ritrovati. Torcello e la laguna nord fra età antica e medievale

This paper presents an overview of the studies and of the intervention techniques used to rediscover the past of the Venetian Lagoon, pointing out to the need for an integrated approach in order to offer a tentative, but consistent reconstruction of the Lagoon landscape as well as of the settlements in that region in ancient times. Furthermore, a survey of some archaeological finds in the North area of the Venetian Lagoon is offered, by focusing on the case of Torcello, correlating archaeological, archival, historical and historiographical sources.
