Il mercato edilizio offre numerosi prodotti a base di legno, spesso più performanti e adatti a diverse tipologie di lavorazione rispetto gli analoghi in massello. A partire dalle caratteristiche di questa categoria di prodotti, la progettazione tende talvolta a ricercare una durevolezza che non è propria del legno e a scontrarsi quindi con la pratica tradizionale che riconosce la naturale trasformazione nel tempo della materia e ne prevede quindi la manutenzione e la sostituzione. Il restauro delle parti lignee del padiglione sull’acqua nel complesso funebre Brion costituisce un’occasione per riflettere sul valore del tempo, non solo in relazione alla trasformazione materiale, ma anche alla logica costruttiva, attraverso ricerche d’archivio e indagini sul campo. It, therefore, clashes with traditional practice, which recognises the natural transformation of the material over time and provides for its maintenance and replacement. The restoration of the water pavilion’s wooden parts in the Brion funeral complex provides an opportunity to reflect on the value of time, not only in relation to the material transformation, but also to the construction rationale, through archival research and site investigations.
