Figurable Disaster : on Berlinde De Bruyckere’s Working Atlas”

The paper explores the visual constellation held by artist Berlinde De Bruyckere on the walls of her studio, in relationship to her horses installation dedicated to Ypres. The focus on montage, and the consistent definition of that constellation as an "atlas", allows the author to approach the work of art as an actual 'working through' concerning one of the topic battlefields of World war I in Ypres.
