Disegno e rappresentazione digitali: modelli e mappe di un mondo inquieto = Drawing and digital representations: models and maps for a restless world

I big data e tutti gli strumenti che ne fanno uso e che li producono hanno generato negli ultimi anni tipologie di rappresentazioni che si somigliano tutte, pur essendo prive di forme riconoscibili. Le maps of Internet, le infografiche e i diagrammi dei sistemi sociotecnici assumono configurazioni indipendenti dalla natura dei dati che le informano, ma sono accomunate dall’essere informate da dati e sistemi di relazioni che vedono l’uomo come presenza spesso marginale. Il disegno è dunque chiamato a prendere consapevolezza e posizione su questa inedita responsabilità. / Big data, together with devices that employ and produce them, have generated modes of representations that look pretty much like each other, despite lacking of recognizable forms. Maps of the Internet, infographics and diagrams of sociotechnical systems are all arranged in configurations which are independent from the nature of conveyed data, but equated by being informed by relational systems that see the human as an often marginal presence. Theories and practices of Representation are thus asked to become aware and take a position about this unprecedented responsibility.
