The contribution of Hans Vredeman de Vries to the study and subsequent popularisation of perspective, especially in northern European countries, is undeniable. However, the criticism levelled at the author of the famous treatise, Perspective, often refers to the lack of dialogue between artists and mathematicians. Starting from the analysis of the published engravings, the rules and exceptions of a projective science are intercepted to be verified in the perspective restitutions of the represented spaces, which can be compared with the knowledge offered by the treatises of the sector.
