Another Form of Life: Notes on Fashion Images Today

The contribution advances a critical reflection on fashion photography today, starting from the observation of specific authorial paths and exhibition and publishing projects. The peculiarities of this language are discussed by intersecting multiple theoretical perspectives, useful for reading the contemporary landscape, which is characterised by the co-presence of opposing thrusts and a plurality of cultural attitudes and aesthetic characters. Alongside authors who embrace the possibilities of the digital and pursue a high-tech aesthetic in their work, there are authors who prefer an analogue approach and the texture of low-tech images on film.
