State of art in train design
The high speed train market is gaining momentum: China, the country with the most extensive high speed network in the world, has surged ahead massively in this respect in just a few years. The country used to buy and produce trains under licence from European or Japanese manufacturers but is now making huge progress both design-wise and technically. With its accumulating experience in the field as well as the development Emu (Electrical Multiple Unit) of specific companies and schools, China is now planning to create its own national mod- els as we see in the prototypes of the 350kph standard electric train Blue Dolphin, of CRRC Qingdao Sifang and the Golden Phoenix, developed by CRRC Changchun
