MEDLAB | Medical Design Laboratory on Service & Product Innovations

The MEDLAB cluster aims to create a network of teachers, researchers and research centers who are able to express the different skills necessary to promote and implement product projects, communication artefacts and innovative services relating in a broad sense to the world of healthcare, health and well-being. This is, in many ways, an exemplary sector of the ways in which social, cultural and technological innovations interact and are among the main causes of the innovation of products, communication artefacts and services. This consideration motivates the multidisciplinary nature of the cluster already in this phase of the foundation and in the subsequent phases of targeted integration. The main themes, which are non-exclusive and open to the inclusion of new topics that acquire new importance, are: . New relationship between hospital and extra-hospital services. . Aging of the population. . Prevention and sports activities. The short and medium term objectives consist of participation in calls for international, European, national and regional projects in applied research, technology transfer and consultancy for companies, agencies and institutions. As for long-term objectives, the MEDLAB cluster aims to become a national and international point of reference on these issues, also through the creation of a specific observatory.
