SACILE: THE ANCIENT AS THE FUTURE Sacile is the first city in Friuli that you come across when arriving from the Veneto. A "bridge city", a crossroads of history, goods, peoples and cultures. Immersed in a plain full of water and crossed by cultivated fields, the city is distinguished by an elegant historic centre, characterized by palaces built in the Venetian way. Modernity has arrived all around, with new neighborhoods and productive activities developed along the main communication routes to the east and west. The author leads us with a little nostalgia on a bird's eye journey over his places of origin, accompanied by the words written many decades ago by Pier Paolo Pasolini.
