abstract:
This article is a synthesis of the research that the two authors are carrying out on the editorial history of "Zodiac", which will soon be published in a book. The first
series (1957-1973) was published by Edizioni di ComunitĂ , Adriano Olivetti's publishing house. Since it is impossible to understand the intellectual and biographical structure of Zodiac without having an idea, albeit approximate, of the complex entrepreneurial, intellectual, editorial and financial history of the Olivetti constellation, the first part of the essay is dedicated to these events. The essay then examines the relationship between Olivetti and architecture, a relationship based on the theme of community. It then analyses the structure of the magazine, the people involved and the authors who contributed to it. Finally, it explores the various themes addressed by the magazine and the relationship between articles, images and drawings.
