The hangar is colossal, located in the Margana zone of Pantelleria, stubbornly desired at the end of the 1930s by Mussolini, who kept a close watch, day by day, on its prog- ress. Meaning that the history of the construction of the building is very well documented. The hangar, in the documents of the air force, is defined as a cavern structure, i.e. a pseudo-underground tunnel built in place of a natural hill, that after having been mined was artificially reconfigured with camouflage of black basalt typical of the island.
