Domotics and Health Building Infrastructures

Conference Paper
Publication Date:
2010
abstract:
Public health is recognized by the new social,
environmental and economic standards as a valuable resource
that must be preserved and improved. The promotion of health
needs a new system of health buildings that can answer to the
new social demand like Humanization, comfort, flexibility,
efficiency and effectiveness, environmental sustainability….
Today the Hospitals are complex buildings in articulation,
function, organization and technology equipment. Therefore
their planning needs a multi-disciplinary approach to organize
efficiently the construction of qualitative units, that answer to
all the requirements of different users and to the fast
transformations due to the research innovations. For this
reason in the last years The Politecnico di Milano have done
different researches about Structure and Technology of Health
Building focused on Flexibility, on High Quality Project, on
sustainability and energy consumption and on Feasibility
Studies for Health Facilities. Another area of particular
interest is the Security and technological systems with
particular reference to seismic engineering and effects of the
differential safety on structural design.
To improve the conditions of comfort and quality is also
given special attention to ergonomics, to Design, to the use of
Home/Building Automation Systems or to a new health
technology usefully for take care of a patient while he a is at
home like Wearable Sensors and BCI for Home Monitoring or
other Products and Services at Home.
