abstract:
The paper proposes the explorative concept of ‘democratic landscape’ to interpret the processes underlying the landscape appearance, and in particular its “level of democracy”. In our aim this concept allows to observe not only procedural democracy in decision making concerning landscape, but the whole landscape construction process and the substantive democracy of its results, including roles and interests of different social actors. The paper advances a preliminary set of topics to be considered in order to detect the level of democracy embodied in a landscape.
