In limiting, cultivating, inhabiting, we recognize the specificities of an island made by various depths, related to the being and the making, physical, historical and cultural depths that return the ability to withstand adversities by practicing an adaptation which conforms the built and cultivated landscape.
The Hidden Depths workshop focuses on the prefiguration of some useful conditions for a sustainable redevelopment of the urban centre of Pantelleria, founding that on the interpretation of the island’s specific traditions in cultivating and building to inhabit a difficult and sometimes hostile place, conformed by the continuous limiting or indulging of environmental factors.
