Chromoland, the colour land. Introduction

The research has focused upon factors of continuity, and has highlighted a rupture with the past. Clearly, technology has played and continues to play a key role in environmental approaches to colour/light. But does technology bring about a change in how designers operate, or does the design process remain essentially intact, using new tools for similar goals (e.g. to excite, shock or challenge traditional perspectives)?
