Adattabilità come strategia di rigenerazione circolare

Il paper restituisce parte di uno studio sul tema della rigenerazione e riqualificazione sostenibile
dell’esistente, approfondendo le implicazioni che sussistono tra l’esigenza di rigenerazione adattiva
per garantire adeguati livelli prestazionali e di funzionalità allo spazio urbano, all’edificio e ad ogni
suo componente/materiale e l’altrettanto urgente esigenza di concepire tali azioni adattive in
chiave circolare. La raccolta, revisione e sistematizzazione della letteratura sul tema della
rigenerazione adattiva e circolare ha portato all’individuazione di un framework di strategie/azioni
alla scala micro (il singolo componente), meso (l’edificio) e macro (lo spazio pubblico) e alla loro
sperimentazione su un caso studio nella città di Roma.

The paper is part of a study on the topic of sustainable regeneration and redevelopment of existing
buildings and urban areas. It explores the implications between the need for adaptive regeneration
to ensure both the adequate levels of performance and functionality of the space (indoor, outdoor
space ) with its components/materials, and the equally urgent need to conceive such adaptive
actions in a circular way. The collection, review and systematisation of the literature led to the
identification of a framework of adaptive/circular strategies at the micro (the single component),
meso (the building) and macro (the public space) scales, and to the verification of the model in a
design experiment on a neighbourhood in Rome.
