CARE TOYS

The vision of human-oriented social design is part of the DNA of design. People are given a central role in the entire process and the potential to influence behavior is exploited. Care Toys® is a system, a research laboratory and a quality mark which is part of this scene. In addition to the production of play items and furniture for children’s hospitals, it also takes an interest in the intangible characteristics of play and spaces, with a particular focus on the physical and psychological wellbeing of children. Care Toys® tells a story which has its roots in the ironic, irreverent approach of Archizoom. It combines design responsibility with academic learning and features participatory and co-design processes, not just for but with the users. As it spreads, it is seeing the involvement of more and more adults and children, in numerous hospitals.
