Venezia Città Metropolitana climateproof : il progetto SEAP_Alps come esempio innovativo di governance climatica locale

This paper aims to present the experience of the Metropoli-tan City of Venice within the European project SEAP_Alps, in order to add a further element of investigation to the field of sustainable energy planning at the local level. The main objective of the project is to promote energy planning at local level by sharing a common methodology among Participant Partners. This is essential to address climate change, as energy use is mainly responsible for it. Local Authorities, in addition to the daily work of land security, play a key role in the mitigation process, but as generally acquired, mitigation is not sufficient since climate change is already taking place: adaptative measures must be considered as well. The two options’ approach (mitigation and adaptation) in the energy planning process is thus essential. Following this principle, an ad hoc methodology for drafting Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAP) for the metropolitan city of Venice, has been created, promoted and implemented.
