Casa en tres primaveras: quando il sistema costruttivo regola il progetto

Articolo
Data di Pubblicazione:
2026
Abstract:
Far from being a restraint, the low budget to build a summer house allows David Sebastián i Ucles to rethink the act of installing the building elements of which the new volumes are composed by: simple thermoclay blocks. Economies become a choice
throughout the whole process: the summer performance of the envelope - due to the thermal mass of the masonry that improves indoor comfort - as a requirement, common and limited types of products to be used, a dimensional module guiding the construction of all vertical elements, no plaster to cover the resulting masonry - almost a statement to declare the building system. Carefully inserting the three units into the old stone walls of a former barn, the architect develops the living areas all
around a covered and shared courtyard, only opening the views towards the
countryside. Internal and external facades display multiple variations in terms of color and surfaces, including reclaimed wooden windows and doors, still revealing the simple geometrical construction principle to which the horizontal bearing elements are bent as
well. As a result of this “slow cooking” process, the thorough design of the Casa en tres primaveras illustrates how the architectural approach can work around the conventional use of building elements, also the most common ones.
