On the global solvability of the Kirchhoff equation for non-analytic initial data.

We give sufficient conditions for the global solvability of Kirchhoff equation in terms of the spectral resolutions of the initial data u(0; x); ut(0; x). We assume no smallness conditions and only “Sobolev-type” regularity.
