Fill the gap. Strategie di avvicinamento tra università e PMI nelle attività di TT = Fill the gap. Strategies to get universities and SMEs closer in TT activities

Il contributo intende analizzare lo scenario, in Italia, relativo al ruolo delle università nelle attività di Terza Missione e valorizzazione della conoscenza, al settore delle imprese e alla loro propensione alla R&S e ad attività innovative – con particolare riferimento alle PMI (Piccole e Medie Imprese) – e alle relazioni esistenti tra queste e le università, evidenziando gli ostacoli che, oggi, si incontrano per l’avvio di attività di ricerca congiunta. Inoltre, il contributo intende proporre alcune strategie che possano avvicinare università e imprese verso tali attività, in considerazione sia delle sollecitazioni provenienti dal mondo della politica che di diversi esempi virtuosi di cooperazione tra imprese e università presenti in Europa. The paper aims to analyse the Italian scenario regarding the role of universities in Third Stream activities and knowledge value enhancement, the enterprises sector and their attitude for R&D and innovative activities – with particular reference to SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) – and the existing relationships between them and universities, highlighting the obstacles encountered today in starting joint research activities. Moreover, the paper aims to propose some strategies that can bring universities and enterprises closer towards such activities, considering both the requests coming from the world of politics and several virtuous examples of cooperation between enterprises and universities present in Europe.
