Le schiave troiane attrici del dramma: il ruolo drammaturgico del coro nelle Coefore di Eschilo

abstract:
An important passage of pseudo-Aristotelian Problemata deals with the ethos of some metrical rhythms: in accordance with their “pathetic” traits, some metres would be more suited to the ethos of the Chorus, because in Tragedy the Chorus would perform a “passive role” and it would be a kind of kedeutès ápraktos (ps. Aristotle, Problemata, 922 b 10ff.). The thesis of this lecture is that in Choephorai the Chorus performs an important active role. I’ll try to support this argumentation, considering some passages of the tragedy, in which character and action of the Chorus are especially significant for the dramaturgic construction.
